“It doesn’t matter.”
“My voice doesn’t count.”
“Nothing will change anyway.”
Damn straight it won’t… if you don’t vote. Since I wrote my senior thesis at Barnard College about voter apathy and its effects on democracy, I have been a passionate supporter of making it easier for people to register and exercise their right to vote.
I am proud to volunteer with Field Team 6, a grassroots voter registration organization whose slogan and mission are simple:
Register Democrats. Save the world.
I have been working on their Events Team since the summer of 2020, and I believe – as they do – that registering voters is not a once-every-four-years or even a once-every-two-years kind of thing. Registering people to vote must happen every day, all year round.
If you share this vision, please donate to Field Team 6 or let me know if you’d like to be involved in any other way with the important work they are doing to lift up more democratic voices in our country today.
